Pushkar Singh Dhami is an Indian politician and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, serving as the 10th and the current Chief Minister of Uttarakhand since 2021. 

He is a renowned author who lives in Landour, Mussoorie. He’s known for writing lots of great stories, especially for kids. His stories often talk about the beautiful places in Uttarakhand, where he lives. 

A celebrated lyricist, screenwriter, and poet, Prasoon Joshi is also from Uttarakhand. He is known for his work in Bollywood and for his contributions to advertising. 

The first Indian in space, was born in Patiala, Punjab but in his early years, he called Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, his home. 

An actor who appeared in several Bollywood movies, Pandey was known for his roles in films like ‘Bandit Queen’ and ‘Godmother’.

Born in Ranchi, Bihar (now in Jharkhand), Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a cricket icon. Renowned as one of the greatest wicket-keeper-batsmen and captains globally, he hails from a Hindu Rajput family with roots in Uttarakhand. 

Jubin Nautiyal, a soulful singer in the Indian playback scene, hails from Dehradun, Uttarakhand.  Uttarakhand not only nurtured his talent but also continues to hold a special place in his heart, as seen through his philanthropic efforts to aid the region during crises.

Govind Ballabh Pant, an Indian freedom fighter and the inaugural chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, played a key role alongside Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Vallabh Bhai Patel in the fight for India’s Independence. Born in 1887 in the village of Khoont near Almora, Pant hailed from a Maharashtrian Brahmin family. His contributions extended beyond independence, making him a pivotal figure in the Indian Government. 

Born in 1954 in Naukri Village, Uttarakhand, Bachendri is a remarkable mountain climber. Back in 1984, she etched her name in history by becoming the first Indian woman to conquer Mount Everest’s summit. In 2019, she received the Padma Bhushan for this historic achievement.
